Sep 07, 2010Slight customization to the default webtop
Hi.
I'm looking to add a single text field to the default webtop. It's an advanced session variable that shows the password expiry date for the user authentication via LDAP.
I'm new to Firepass customization and I've seen the script that's available from the various F5 support sources. But is this the same as the default webtop? I'm happy wih the way the default one works and don't want to force a major change on users at the moment.
So, in a nutshell: How can I make a slight change to the default webtop by adding a single line of text somewhere, inluding an advvanced session variable?
Thanks all.

I am almost 100% certain you will have to create your own webtop for this to happen. I would highly recommend using the default built in expiration notification. The solution number is SOL10268. - neilcox_109027

Thanks. But we're not an Active Directory house. This is from LDAP authentication to another directory service (the original!) - neilcox_109027

Thanks. I'll try that. - Mike_61719

I have not used an advanced session variable for just a simple text layout. I have done this for application link URL names, pretty sure it is similar. - Don_Ryles_52501

I just tried this with one of our custom webtops and an asv value and I don't see how it can work. - Mike_61719

I would than just create a link that has the expiration and a little how to. Pretty easy.
