Siebel Web server Load balancing Problem

I am using F5 LTM for the load balancing of Web servers of Siebel application servers. I am not load balancing for siebel application servers. I thought this will be very straight forward. Just through requests in round robin method on web servers.

Now its not working they have configured one web server with native load balancing and its working. They configured another web server with third party load balancer configuration which is F5 but their login page is not displayed through F5.

If i just put VS IP in browser web server page is displayed but when put full url for the application it gives an error.

The server you are trying to access is too busy or un available. Try browsing from another browser or logging again.

  • I'm rather confused by what the failing setup is. When you use an IP it works, when you use a FQDN it doesn't? Is SSL involved? Are you certain the web servers in question route traffic back to your client via the F5s and not directly?

As you say, should be simple.

what is the siebel server returning to the user after the login? is it telling the client to connect to an incorrect IP/service/port instead of back through the F5 virtual server? do siebel logs show that the user actually logs in? Is persistence enabled on the F5 virtual server? Have you tried with only one siebel server live behind the F5 to see if it's an issue with more than one server in the pool?
