NimbostratusWe ended up going back to Kerberos. The issues we ran into with SAML documented above as well as the requirement (late coming) for full BI functionality forced us back.
So our users are back to entering their credentials when they jump between Host Name Site Collections unless they are in Windows and have the SharePoint domain in their Trusted or Local intranet zones.
