SFP Installation
Hi,
We have i5800 with vCMP licensed with LTM & WAF implementation which is in Production.
Currently we are planning to install additional 4 SFP on the i5800 device (SFP slots are available)
Please share the Best Practice to Install SFPs on production devices and do we require any down time for the same.
Thank you in Advance.

Installing SFP, SFP+ or QSFP on an i5800 platform shouldn't require any downtime. Please refer to the platform guide for further information on interface module compatibility

If you're connecting i5800 to a switch nearby within 1-3m or so you should consider using direct attach cables. For example: https://www.fs.com/de-en/products/69905.html
We've configured 2-4 port LAGs for i5800 so if one port goes down it doesn't cause HA failover or lost packets. And you of course get more than 10Gbps throughput.
Fiber optics are hot pluggable so there's no down time connecting the optics or cables.
