Setup BGP on F5 GTM using a loopback
The Setup: We've got BGP working on a GTM using the 1.1 and 1.2 interfaces (both /30 sunbnets) with two different routers. BGP is working and providing correct routes. However I don't want to use either of the transit interfaces for i-query between the GTM and the LTM. I'd like to advertise a single loopback into BGP for the purpose of i-query.
We're running the ARM license which enables BGP.
The Problem: I can't find anywhere to create a loopback.
I've looked under interfaces. I've run a show ip interface brief from zebos imish and there is an interface called "lo", however when I try to go under that interface, there is no option for an IP address.
Extra Thoughts: I'd rather not us a VLAN even if that were a possibility I would expect there to be problems due to no physical interface connection for said VLAN.
If this were a router I'd have 2 transit networks and one loopback for services such as BGP, SNMP, SSH whatever else. In this case I'm looking for a loopback for i-query.
Thanks CR

You should be able to create a non floating self IP address on each box and use it as the loopback.
Are you GTM and LTM separate? If so, I'd create two other VLANs and use those to communicate if you're not using your transit VLANs.
Also, self IP's are associated with VLANs and VLANs with interfaces so you'll need to create a path from the interface to the self IP address.
Let me know if anything doesn't make sense.
