send recieve string f5 health monitor

Hello , I have to create health monitor for DNS . in that i need to place send recieve strings , using below path I am trying to create health monitor for my DNS server Have 2 queries Path > Templates and Wizards ›› Templates ›› Generic DNS Do you want to use this template to create a health monitor only? I have selected YES

 

query What hostname do you want to send to the DNS server for this health monitor? do I need to put exact hostname so for each hostname will i have to create seperate heath monitor What IP address do you expect to receive from the DNS server if the server is healthy? can i put 0.0.0.0 as any one can access it

    So this monitor does a DNS lookup, ergo you need to put in the name to lookup and what the answer SHOULD be.

     

    For example, you could put www.google.co.uk. and the answer would be 173.194.41.152

     

    For DNS you may want to have a number of different monitors which check different names, just in case there is an issue with a specific DNS zone.
