Script error while using iApp template f5.vmware_view

I've tried this with v1.2.0, v1.2.1, v1.2.1rc1 of the template f5.vmware_view, all with the same error. When I enter all the information into the template and click finish I receive the following error:

    script did not successfully complete: (invalid command name "file"
    while executing
    "file mkdir $location"
    (procedure "xml_file" line 55)
    invoked from within
    "xml_file apm_act_vmware_logon_page logon-page"
    invoked from within
    "subst $pre_proc_map"
    invoked from within
    "if { $do_apm } {

     APM string map. Define your APM implementation here.
    set apm_map(prefix) [tmsh::pwd]/$app

     array keys: $advanced
    ..." line:890)

Anyone know a fix or workaround for this? I've even commented out the line for "file mkdir" and get an error on the next line.

My configuration is a two core vcmp guest on a 5250v with APM and LTM provisioned on code BIG-IP 11.6.0 Build 5.0.429 Hotfix HF5.

Thank you for your help

    Hi Aaron,

    I have not seen this error before but it looks like you might be using 2 factor with HTML5 support enabled. If so, are you able to successfully run the iApp without using 2 factor? Also, are you running the iApp in a partition other then Common?

  • Greg,

    Thank you for the quick response. I set 2 factor auth to no and I am using partition Common. I've also made sure I don't have any spaces or non-standard characters in any of the name fields. I used the same iApp on my 4200v's, but they're LTM only where as the 5250v's giving me grief are LTM and APM. Aside from the VLAN's and self/float IP's, DNS & NTP settings, there's nothing else configured or running on this guest.

    Anything else I should check?

    Could be your system is in appliance mode which disables bash. Try disabling appliance mode. In some cases appliance mode is controlled by the license - show sys license detail - will list all the features for the applied license. I recall the licence tag for appliance mode as ltm_app_mode.
