SCOM 2012 - Healthy vs. Not Monitored

We have the SCOM 2012 MP installed and we have successfully discovered our DEV F5 to play around before going to production. In the SCOM console, I see several nodes pools and VIPs that are in a "Healthy" state. I also see several nodes pools and VIPs that are in a "Not Monitored" state. Browsing through the contents of each of these groups, I'm having a heck of a time figuring out why a given VIP that is fully available would show up under the "Not Monitored" container instead of the "Healthy" container.
