scheduled service time for VS

Is it possible to stop a VS from accepting traffic some time during a day? Of course I mean BigIP does it automatically. Thanks a lot.

    The best way to do this, that I can think of, would be to have an iControl script that switches the particular VS off and on depending on the time of day and state you want associated with it.

     

     

    There is no timer function in the BIG-IP that would allow traffic only during a certain part of the day by default.

    You can also use an iRule for that. You can create a really simple one that you apply during the maintenance window only, or you can use the tcl "clock" command to schedule a regualar window. You could either reject connections outright when the maintenance condition is true, redirect to an alternate server, or serve an HTML page explaining the outage.
