Routing Protocols uses secure authentication

Dears,

I would like to know about two routing protocols if they uses secure authentication or not. I have BigIP LTM machine version 10.2.4 and using default gateway route.

There are two types of route: 1. default gateway. 2. route.

Any one of them uses secure authentication?

Many Thanks.

  • you mean Neighbor authentication? This cannot be done with static routes. You need to use either OSPF, RIPv2, BGP (among other) routing protocols for that. LTM need an additional license to use "advanced routing protocols".

    What are you using now?

  • Hi Ameen.

What routing protocol are you referring to? ZebOS supports authentication for RIP, OSPF and BGP and, as far as I know, BigIP didn't change anything. Is that your question?

  • Thanks amolari. This answer what I look for, no secure authentication can be done with static route as I expect.
