Regarding the "/", there is nothing in your rule that appears to require it's presence. There's nothing in the BigIP that requires it either. Perhaps this is something that the server is requiring? What happens if you take the rule off the virtual and just use one of the pools directly on the virtual? Do you still have to supply the terminating "/"?
If it is the server that is requiring the terminating "/", we can even modify citizen_elah's rule to rewrite the uri to include it. Simply, add "HTTP::uri $uri_info" as a line after the append and this will rewrite the uri to be what's in the $uri_info variable (which has had the extra "/" appended).
