Response Chunking / Bad Request

Can the wrong Response Chunking (RC) option in a profile cause requestor to get a Bad Request response for requests larger than 64k?

 

 

User has prod profile applied to prod VIP and the RC selection is "Preserved" and not having an issue.

 

 

In the test environment, RC is set to "Re-chunk" and he is getting the Bad Request response.

 

 

Below is a little more detail from user:

 

 

2 request made to same server with different request size are behaving differently.

 

1. Request with smaller request size (54.79kb) works fine without any issue

 

2. Request with larger request size (264.74kb) failes with bad request exception.

 

 

We tested the same scenario by calling the PW service directly without LB, and we could see that requests are getting processed without any issues.

 

We suspect, then the request is routed via LB, LB truncates the request beyond some size, we suspecting this size to be around 64kb (not very sure about exact size)
