Apr 24, 2008rename VirtualServers or Pools
Hello,
i need to change some configs - the definied names of my VirtualServers do not match my new requirements.
Via the GUI i found no way to rename a VirtualServer or a Pool.
Is there something via command line or any trick to do it?
Of course i could delte it and make it new ... but
Thanks a lot, Ingo

I guess this depends on how confident you are with editing files from the command line. If you use nano to edit /config/bigip.conf you can change the names of your virtual servers.
When you come save and exit from the file type:
b load
and this will make active your changes. You will see that in the GUI the names have now changed.
Make sure you back up your working bigip.conf file first. - Don_MacVittie_1Historic F5 AccountHey Ingo,
If you have created some of them via iControl and not used ConfigSync to save the running configuration, that would be why.
If you are using the GUI, I don't know - it should automatically save your changes.
Hope that helps,
Don. - Ingo_37166

Hi,
i found my configs. They are split in two files.
Some is in bigip.conf and the rest ist in bigip_local.conf.
Dont know why - but it works to edit them.
