Remove bigip server header IN the system itself?!
I want to remove the header: Server: BigIP
I've looked all over DevCentral, and I've read numerous articles on how to do this with different iRules, and one simple way is to use 'Respond' with 'noserver'. However, I don't want this only for a httpTohttps redirect, I want the header removed always, for both http and https servers. It seems extra hard to accomplish this with an iRule when using https. Plus all the extra resources this is going to take ... How about just finding where this is set in the system, and changing/removing it right there? That would take care of the problem without any extra effort to the system at all, and it would take care of all the servers automatically!
Thanks!

Navigate to Local Traffic->Profiles->Services->HTTP
Create your own profile, or modify the base http profile about 2/3 down the screen. Where you find it says "Server Agent Name 'BigIP'" you can simply blank it out.

Wow, never heard of this feature before, and didn't see it in any of the articles I read. I'm afraid this isn't available on my version, v11.2.1 HF 14? When was this feature introduced? And can it still be done on my version, by changing it "behind the scene"?
Many thanks Ekaleido! You are definitely giving me hope! :)

I don't know when it was introduced. The earliest version I have access to is 11.5.3. I will see what I can dig up though.
