Reboot or daemon restart after installing new SSL TPS license on v10?

I'm reviving this thread, but with a more accurate description:

https://devcentral.f5.com/Community...fault.aspx

Can anyone confirm if a reboot or daemon restart is required on v10 when installing a new SSL TPS license?

    Hey SMP,

You can run reloadlic to update the license from the CLI (after using 'get_dossier -b "base-reg-key" -a "addon-key,addon-key2'" to generate the dossier). I *think* this should be transparent to users, but I'd double check this with Support.

  • I had a brief chat with my SE who pointed me at SOL7752, which states (in several places):

"Traffic processing will be briefly interrupted while the BIG-IP system reloads the configuration."

I also ran reloadlic on a standby in my lab, and it appears to have reloaded the config. So it certainly looks to me like active connections are reset. I guess that technically wasn't my question, but that was my intent. :)

    Thanks hoolio.

Yeah, it looks like the HA connection goes down temporarily too. I'd reactivate the license during a maintenance window :)
