Rack Unit (RU) and Full/Half width blade

Dear All,

 

Good day,

 

I was reading the study guide and came across VIPRION and found a term called Rack Unit (RU) and Full and Half width Blade.

 

Does the rack unit imply the no. of blade modules that can be inserted in a given chassis (ex. 4800 has 16 RU and 2400 has 4RU)

 

Also, regarding the full and half width blade - does it mean the size (primarily) being referred here as I see the pictures of 2250 blade is small in comparison to 4450 blade.

 

Kindly confirm.

    Half-width blade means, you can have 2 such blades right next to each other, horizontally. { } The curly brackets {} indicate the total width of the chassis.
