Nov 10, 2009pool is up, members are up, but LB_FAILED is always triggered
I'm having a weird issue with an iRule, and I'm hoping someone has some idea's for me.
I am working in a partition, I have 1 pool defined in that partition, and that pool has 1 member in it. If I SSH into the BIG-IP, I can telnet to the pool member on the given port and responses are received immediately. If I direct -any- traffic to the pool the LB_FAILED event is triggered after a few seconds and nothing is ever sent to the pool member.
Where should I be looking for a problem like this? My understanding of LB_FAILED is (taken from somewhere in the forums):
LB_FAILED is triggered in a variety of circumstances. I'll list a few off the top of my head:
a) no pool selected
b) no available pool members in selected pool
c) no route to pool member
d) failed to connect to pool member
A) verified using logging
B) verified using logging
C) I can telnet to the pool member from the BIG-IP. Is that enough?
D) Not sure how to test this either?

What monitor(s) do you have applied to the pool? Is that marking the pool members up?
Do the pool members have LTM's floating self IP on their VLAN defined as their default gateway? Or are you performing source address translation on the VIP using a SNAT?

I am using the http monitor on the pool, and it is marking the members as up. I just checked with our PSG guys and apparently we are using SNAT.
