Jun 01, 2005persistence & node down
Hi everyone,
I used the forum search but can't find a reply to the following question:
Assume persistence is enabled and a client is communicating with a node from a pool of servers he was designated to and the node breaks down (crash, power loss, whatever) - what happens with the next client request ? Does the LB throw away all persistence information he has about that client and starts over with a new node from the pool ?
regards,
Mario
- drteeth_127330Historic F5 AccountYes. Session persistence records are removed when a node goes down.
- drteeth_127330Historic F5 AccountI should clarify further. UnRuley just reminded me that the persistence record is only removed when a downed pool member is accessed. If the pool member goes down and then comes back up before the next client request, then it will be directed to the original pool member.
