Peoplesoft 9 Health Question

Hi Everyone,

I am working to try to find a valid check for https on Peoplesoft 9. I have a valid call working in 11.2.1 but it seems broken in 11.5. I have a tid open because it might be a bug but I was just wondering what kind of health checks people are running on their peoplesoft environments. I am fairly new but something seems bizarre with Weblogic 10.3 and I don't really know too much about the F5 (free web training) and weblogic. Our tcp monitors work on all the hosts and my http and https monitors work great on other hosts, but I am just looking for any advice possible. Thanks in advance.

  • I know nothing about PeopleSoft, however if I was trying to debug a monitor problem I would use tcpdump you'll need the non-floating self IP of the unit you are using (let call it 1.1.1.1) and the IP of the server being checked (let's call it 2.2.2.2) and the port for the check (let's say 80). Then;-

    tcpdump -i0.0 -s0 -w/var/tmp/ps_mon.cap host 1.1.1.1 and host 2.2.2.2 and port 80

    Then put your capture file in wireshark and work out whether;

    1. a response is not being returned
    2. a response is not being returned within the specified time
    3. a response is not being returned in the correct format

    If you eliminate 1 and 2 then 3 must be the problem.
