Packet loss on Failover F5 Viprion Active/Standby
I have 2 F5 viprion chassis each with a single blade. I have configured them as a active / standby with mac masqurade. I am doing some testing using pings one every second (default) and find that on forced failover I lose one ping is normal ??? or is there an issue ? I would of thought I would not loose a ping.

I would think that lost ping is due to the network having to update it's ARP cache for the newly active F5. Although mac masquerade is in use, the newly active F5 is on a different port, hence ARP needs updating for same mac on new interface.

Hello,
I have a similar problem where I fail one port on the trunk and I lose a ping on the way down and I lose a ping on the way up. Since that device is still active the mac didn't move over why I'm losing a packet? Is there a configuration guide / or best practice guide on this?

Loosing 1 packet is in consequential. TCP connections will not notice the loss of 1 packet. It will just be resent. Don't fret over one lost ICMP packet.
