Hi Guys,
Just a question regarding outbound FTP connection. We are migrating an old BIGIP 1000 to LC 1600 and setting up an outbound VS for FTP
ftp_outbound
standard
any:21
profile: ftp
address and port translation: disabled
snat: enabled
vs_outbound
perfl4
any:any
address and port translation
snat: enabled
we tried accessing this site ftp.bir.gov.ph and we keep on hanging when we execute ls command
200 Port Command Successful. Consider using PASV
Other ftp sites are working fine. Also before the migration, this site is working. We can issue ls and dir command without error
Any ideas? Might this be an issue regarding passive and active ftp?
Thanks

Actually we were not able to solve the issue on the test link. All the while, client's ftp sites are already working and we have no idea since they don't have user account to test. We were spending time on this test ftp and I just say why bother on this test ftp if their production is already working. outbound ftp any:21 ftp profile address and port trans disabled snat enabled - L4L7_53191

Fwiw, it does sound like a potential active/passive issue. The message you got "consider using PASV" tells me that your client was using active. I'm not sure if you've tried but it may be worth testing the theory by doing 'set PASV' during your session and then trying your ls command. - L4L7_53191
