Jan 05, 2010Outbound Connections
Hello Experts,
Please see the attached diagram.
I need to configure all outbound connections orginating from server 1 and server 2 to go to the Virtual server in 10.12.1.0 network. I do not want the servers to bypass the Loadbalancer. How do I configure the VIP and get the servers to send all traffic to the load balancers. Please help as I am very new to F5.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Vijay

Hi Vijay.
You could add a route in server 1 and 2 that says the next hope is 10.12.1.0?

Hi Bhattman,
Thanks for your continued help. I could do that, but I am not sure if that is a best practice in an architectural sense. How about if I put the VIP in the same network as the server and VIP becomes the gateway for the servers. However the other devices in the same network will have the gateway still pointing to the firewall. Is this a recommended practice ?
Thanks.

Hi Vijay,
I am not sure how your architecture is layed out. You have a document that has 2 firewalls but I don't see where the LTM is sitting in relation to the firewalls. If you can update that and re-attach it I can get better since of where you need to go.
