No inbound emails when server gateway is F5. Outbound is okay.

Hi I just want to know why we are not able to receive inbound emails when we gateway the SMTP server to our BIG-IP (x.x.x.1)? Basically we configure virtual server and pool using port 25. VS_SMTP IP is translated to public IP.

 

VS_SMTP = x.x.x.76 Pool_SMTP = x.x.x.77

 

VS_SMTP IP address is translated to public IP.

 

Outbound email is okay.

    What exactly does not work? Do you get a connection on te public IP address? Can you post your virtual server configuration?

    $ host -t mx  my_domain.org
my_domain.org mail is handled by 10 mail.my_domain.org.
$ telnet mail.my_domain.org 25
Trying x.x.x.x...
Connected to mail.my_doman.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 mail.my_domain.org ESMTP Postfix
quit

Connection closed by foreign host.
$
