Need Help for BIG-IP i5800 vCMP configuration :(
We have 2 BIG-IP i5800 box with DNS and LTM license. For a new deployment with a need of 3 vCMP guest with redundancy (failover) in two of the boxes
Can anyone help regarding resource segmentation ? We need 3guest .1 for DNS<M another 2 for LTM only
I am new to this VCMP if you can help me with how we start planning for deploying the boxes with configuration , it will be great Thanks in advance

Have you licensed the bigip for vcmp?

The i5800 supports (max) 58 single-core vcmp guests (which are very limited performance-wise). That means 28 guests with a control plane and data plane CPU.
How many simultaneous DNS connections do you need to support? How many zones/records?
How many virtuals/connections do your LTMs need to support? How much SSL do you need to handle? Do you want memory-hungry irules?
The best approach is to talk to your F5 Account team about guest sizing and future requirements (maybe ASM or AFM etc).

Hi nathan we haven't started deploying. We have DNS ans LTM license . If i am not wrong license has to put on the boxes , and latter while creating guest we can enable the license on the guest. Correct me if i am wrong .
Thanks

The license can be applied to vCMP host only. vCMP guests inherit license from the host. Your license need to have vCMP, DNS and LTM modules otherwise you will not be able to do what you want.
Do you have such licence?

Check System - Resource Provisioning, is there an option to Provision vCMP?
