Mar 12, 2014Multiple IP addresses showing for GTM/LTM member in data centre config
Hi
I have configured 2 x GTMs with 2 x DMZ LTMs and 2 x Internal LTMs in a network and in the Data Centers/Servers section I see the list of the 6 F5 devices, however the GTMs and DMZ LTMs have multi...

Mar 12, 2014Do you have virtual server discovery enabled on the BIG-IP devices?

Yes we have this enabled. - Cory_50405Mar 12, 2014

Try disabling it for the GTM servers and see if that helps. - Richard_22613Mar 12, 2014

I'll give it a try, but won't disabling this stop any new virtual servers set up on the LTMs showing up in the GTMs though? - Cory_50405Mar 12, 2014

If it's enabled on the GTM servers, just disable it for those. Don't disable on the LTMs if you need the discovery there. - Richard_22613Mar 12, 2014

I've disabled the GTMs as suggested and removed the second address from the GTMs, however I still have two ip addresses in the server list for the two DMZ LTM servers (there is the iquery interface and the internet facing interface), I need to get the internet facing interface out of this list but if I edit the server and remove it then it automatically comes back about 30 secs later. - Cory_50405Mar 12, 2014

Are your DMZ LTMs setup as an active/standby pair? If so, are they configured as a BIG-IP System (Redundant) in the GTM server config? - Richard_22613Mar 12, 2014

No they are standalone units in seperate data centres. We have one GTM, one DMZ LTM and one internal LTM at each DC. - Cory_50405Mar 12, 2014

So the only issue remaining is that in the GTM server list, the DMZ LTM shows up with two IP addresses? - Richard_22613Mar 12, 2014

yes and there are the 'Connection in progress to x.x.x.x' entries in the log file for the 2nd (RIPE) address for the DMZ LTMs. It already connects to the LTMs using the first IP and our firewalls wont allow connections across the internet using the RIPE ones. - Cory_50405Mar 12, 2014

This may be occurring because GTM at site A is trying to connect to the DMZ LTM at site B and can't connect to its private address. Can you verify if this communication is working?
