Multi-single arm configuration

We have 2 BigIP 3900 LTM appliances and have been using it to for mostly HTTP and HTTPS offloading. We are now venturing down the path of using it for Lync and do have it working for internal user connections. Now we want to setup the edge servers so that we can federate and also invite external users to meetings via audio and video sessions.

We have found a lot of documents from F5 and Microsoft on this but they all recommend using Public IP addresses on the F5 and the Lync edge servers on a DMZ. These docs also appear to show two different F5 in the configuration, which we don't have nor can we afford to invest into more hardware.

So my question is: is there a way to use a single F5 BigIP (active/passive cluster) where it has connections to our internal network (private IP space) as well as to our DMZ (public IP space) at the same time?
