monitoring multiple ports on vips added to GTM pool
I have a vip on LTM with three different ports 80, 443 and 8773(non-http) but same ip. This VIP needs to be added to a GTM pool under same LTM already added as a server. How do I monitor all the three ports when this virtual is added?

Best practice would be to have the LTM monitor those ports on the related pool to determine the availability of the VIP and not do any additional monitoring at the GTM level. GTM will then learn whether or not the VIP is available over the iquery connection between itself and the LTM.
If you wish to assign GTM monitors to the VIP defined in the GTM configuration then you would need to use the "Alias service port" setting in the monitors properties to specify which port the monitor should test. You must switch the configuration utility view from basic to advanced for the alias settings to appear.

I don't think that is possible for a virtual added under a bigip server, and more so from GUI. I have known adding a depends_on virtuals in pool members for generic hosts. In version 11.x there is a tmsh option 'depends-on' for members of a pool, think this can be used: (tmsh)(gtm) add pool gtm_pool { add virtual gtmvirtual depends-on [virtual1] depends-on [virtual2] } where virtual1 and virtual2 would have already been added under the respective bigip servers.
Need to know if this would suffice for the requirement.....

Yes you can use virtual server dependency to tie the availability of one virtual server to other virtual servers.
This setting can be configured in 2 places on GTM using either the GUI or tmsh, 1) in the properties of a virtual server or 2) in the properties of a pool member.
