Monitor ACS Services (TACACS/RADIUS)

I am looking for a way to monitor the TACACS and RADIUS services for a Cisco ACS 5.x server. I am not finding good documentation on how to monitor the TACACS server other than the basic TCP monitoring. Anyone else have better luck?

    A while ago, when I was LB'ing TACACS and RADIUS, I wrote an external monitor to perform an authentication against it... Sorry, don't have that code any more, but if you're handy with perl it shouldn't take you too long (Actually, you could write it in anything you like really).
