NimbostratusIf you can't do upgrade on the 1600 then I recommend doing it on a VM (see link), this will catch most syntax and functional changes to 11.x, if you are only using LTM then it will be easier but it's still not straightforward. I've been through this process for LTM related migrations from v10 legacy h/w to v11 Viprion.
