NimbostratusLync 2010 & LTM/GTM setup w iAPP
HI, I'm setting up Lync 2010 LB on an LTM/GTM and had a couple of questions when I use the iAPP LYNC2010:

iAPP QUESTIONS:
1- Are you deploying a reverse proxy as part of your Edge topology?
If answer yes, I'm being asked:
What IP address do you want to use for the port 4443 reverse proxy virtual server for external web services and simple URLs? This virtual server forwards traffic to the Lync Front End Servers.
** I supposed this will be an public IP address (or NATd to a public one) for external client access?
2-Are you deploying the internal interfaces for Microsoft Lync Server Edge Servers at this time?
** Do the Edge servers internal interfaces need to be load balanced?
3- Microsoft Lync Server Edge Reverse Proxy - External Interface: Would you like to create a BIG-IP virtual server to act as a reverse proxy for Lync external web services?
What unique, publicly routable IP address do you want to use for the port 443 reverse proxy virtual server?
** This Can be an IP address in the DMZ that will be NATd to an public IP address, correct?
What is the IP address of the internal reverse proxy BIG-IP virtual server for external web services that forwards traffic to the Lync Front End Servers?
** what IP address would this be? confused!
THIS IS MY LYNC SETUP:
Front End Pool
SERVER30 172.4.3.30
------- LTM VIP is 172.10.40.22 ( Internal Users connect to these directly then it comms to Edge Servers)
SERVER31 172.4.3.31
Reverse proxy pool
SERVERPP32 172.10.40.32
------ LTM VIP in the 172.10.40.X --- NAT to 65.10.10.32 (IS THIS EVEN NEEDED?)
SERVERPP33 172.10.40.33
Edge pool
External Interfaces:
EDGE34 172.10.40.34 (NAT to: 8.3.202.30)
----- LTM VIP 172.10.40.23 (need NAT to 65.10.10.8 ?)
EDGE35 172.10.40.35 (NAT to: 8.3.202.31)
Internal interfaces:
172.4.3.34
----10.10.40.24 ( need load balancing? )
172.4.3.35

- Hi BB1030, here are the answers to your questions, in order:
1. This should be an internal IP address. It will be receiving traffic from the reverse proxy virtual server on the external BIG-IP.
2. Yes, the Edge internal services need to be load balanced. The internal clients and servers must also be able to route directly to these server IPs and vice-versa.
3. That should be OK.
4. This is the IP address of the reverse proxy virtual server on the internal BIG-IP (the one you created in step 1).
