LTM-VE - sync failover not working, while sync only yes

Hello, I am trying to setup a sync-failover group in a couple of free trial VMs using the standard 11.3.0HF6. I can bring sync-only groups up fine, but once i create a sync-failover group, one of the 2 devices turns immediatley into red and i need to restablish the trust between the 2 once more. I duly followed this guide but it still fails. I can ping/ interfaces are up / all configs have been checked multiple times and they are simmetrical.

 

Do you know if i may hit a bug? Using "run cm sniff-updates", i see plenty of 'RST' coming from the HA interface from the otherside and i cannot telnet on port 6699. Though it's everywhere "allow default/all".

    i have seen multiple people report the free trial VM doesn't do HA fully. i wouldn't put too much effort in that try to get two VE LAB licenses, much better and gives access to the actual current versions and not an old one.
