LTM persistent connection affecting DNS flip between datacenters
We are in the process to evaluating Big-IP DNS between our two data centers but we right now performing a manual flip using specific monitors to control the flip. Our application uses a web tier (F5) which in turns makes tcp connection to the app tier VIP (F5). The issue we are having is that the application has persistent connections so when we flip between data center the connections are remaining on the original side because of the persistence. We do see new connections at the other data center so the flip is functioning. My question is how can we terminate the persistent connections so they can flip to the other data center. i'm hoping there is a setting or some kind so we don't have to go in and kill the connections as we flip between data centers.

The article is related to persistent DNS connections. Our issue is not related to persistent DNS connections its related to the persistent connections within the application. We are not configured to use DNS persistence. * Upcoming Vacation – 7/22 – 7/26 Sharon Day Black Knight Inc, Network Architecture Office: (904) 854-3477 Mobile: (904) 210-1677 Email: Sharon.Day@bkfs.com
