LTM interface to GTM

I have a situation where I am supposed to use code that was developed several years ago that allowed customers access to commands within the LTM while preventing them from accessing other commands, and convert it to support GTM in a similar manner to accomplish the same end result. The LTM and GTM documentation contains many of the same Methods, so it seems like it could be done. Has anyone attempted something along these lines that could offer insight on how they went about doing it and whether it was successful?
