LTM 3900 Version 10.2.4 compatible with VMclient 5?
Hello, I am quite new at the F5 LTM implementations, but i have had such excellent feedback, i hope i can be as helpful in the future.
I have two BIG IP LTM 3900s running in ACTIVE-STANDBY on version 10.2.4, and I am experiencing some issues when load balancing VMware client connections for VMclient version 5.
The issue is:-
First two connections : SUCCESS
Next two connections : FAILURE - user authenticates with VMbroker, displays a suitable virtual desktop icon, but when attempting to open the desktop session itself, the VMclient fails and closes itself
Next two connections : SUCCESS
Next two connections : FAILURE
And it continues like this. Because there appears to be a pattern, im leaning towards either the LTM version being the issue, or the VMclient versions being the issue, but as I am on version 10.2.4 (i.e. not the latest) im aware the LTM may need to be upgraded.
I have tested the same LTM configurations load balancing for VMclient 4.6 and there was no issue, which is another reason i think its the VMclient/LTM versions.
so my question is:-
a) is there a recommended version of LTM i should be using for VMWare? (specifically client version 5) should i be using LTM version 11.2? or is using 10.2.4 adequate? (and the upgrade should be for best practices)
b) is there a possible configuration step im missing? its confusing as the connections are being passed through and the VMclient only fails at the last point i.e. at the stage where PCoIP is between the client and broker directly.
once again, any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
