load balancing method which takes cpu usage into account

Hi,

 

We have two sets of real servers, one set has more powerful hardware. Is there a way we can send more traffic to the less loaded systems (cpu wise) somehow? i.e. a way to weight the servers through some snmp cpu check or something. Has anyone done such a config?

    There are a couple of ways to skin this. One is to simply weight traffic with ratio load balancing to favor the beefier hardware.

    Another is to use Dynamic Load Balancing, which can make use of SNMP calls to the servers themselves to create a sort of overall picture of server load. There are more details here:
