Dec 05, 2007load balancing memcached
Was wondering if anyone out there is load balancing memcached? I found this post a while back but it seems the thread hit a dead end with regards to persistence and the restarting of servers.

- Patrick_Chang_7Historic F5 AccountActually crc32 is not a good hash as it results in the requests not being distributed evenly between the memcached servers. md5 provides superior results, but at the cost of more CPU. This works best with 9.4.2 or later as there is a new function (active_members -list) which makes the iRule much simpler to write/manage.

thanks! I'll check it out. We'll be getting some new BigIPs next month which I plan to run a newer rev of code on, currently on 9.1. - Patrick_Chang_7Historic F5 AccountFull description is now posted under the Election Hash iRule article.
