Is SMTP Profiles required for SMTP Proxy?
Trying to setup an SMTP proxy through our F5. I'm unable get a Green light for my Virtual Server & Pool. Is it required to have an SMTP Profile on the Virtual Server or can I not assign a profile?
I do not have the SMTP Profile available because we don't have the Protocol Security Module.
I'm unable to telnet from the F5 to the back-end node on port 25, however, in a tcpdump I see traffic on the IP address using port 25...
Closing this question, the error was on the SMTP appliance not with my setup of the F5 configuration.
no you shouldn't need to, if you virtual server and pool won't become green you need to look at that first. do you have health monitor on the pool? which? have you tried a simpler one, tcp, icmp?
