Is it possible for F5 LTM to do SSL redirect for a domain name that is not on the website certificate using IRULE or any other mechanism?

Is it possible for F5 LTM to do SSL redirect for a domain name that is not on the website certificate using IRULE or any other mechanism?

 

example

 

test.org (Test.org domain name is not on the certificate) redirect using SSL www.test.com domain name is on certificate

  • yes, it can but user will get certificate warning message (page).

     

  • Is it doable to create a virtual server for SSL and HTTP that only does redirects. But really does not send traffic to server nodes. I'm trying to save $ on certificate cost for new domain we just acquired

     

    Certainly, but as Nitass stated, users will get a certificate warning message if the requested host name is not in the server certificate.
