iRules without VS assignment

Hello community,
I've one question. Is there any influences of iRules without an assignment to a specific Virtual Server (maybe like global iRules for all VS's)?

Or need each iRule a Virtual Server assignment for generell for processing?

    An iRule needs to be assigned.

     

    You can apply it on different elements, for example :

     

    • On a virtual server
    • On a rule in a AFM policy.
    • On a wide IP in GTM

       

      ...
