irules syntax

Still using v4.6.4 here on BIGIP. anyone can help me for correct v4 irules tutorial?

 

 

certain v9 syntax like matchclass are useful, but seems not available for v4. Where can I find all the syntax/function/expression for v4?

 

 

Is it better to use the simple (but fool-proof?) rule builder in the web gui of v4?

    Classes are available in 4.x

     

    In the GUI -> Rules -> Classes

     

     

    Not as flexible as 9.x, but there nonetheless.

    I have never had a rule that Rule Builder could create for me. I always go straight to text.
