iRule replacement for Websphere IHS plugin

Good Morning-

 

We're in the process of replacing our app servers with webshpere. The initial draft of the architecture has us placing an IHS "proxy tier" in front of the websphere app layer. Anyone out there use an iRule to replace the IHS plugin? From my understanding, IBM says it's possible, but may not be willing to support it.
