iRule needed to count LDAP connections for specific usernames

Hi, I'm a total noob at this, but I need to make an iRule which is a lot different than the simple ones I've seen thus far. I need to count how many times a specific user account is used to connect to LDAP and tally those reporting it back in, I guess, a text file. So, perhaps it's not an iRule, but maybe a shell script on the F5? I'm not sure. This is for reporting and analysis, not for actual load balancing. Suggestions?
