Aug 16, 2006iRule about hash persistence
Hi
I want know using the bigip of the F5 from slb algorithm the hash mode function probably is a Hash method and a what kind of difference point of slb algorithm method to the Alteon I use the BIGIP and the place slb algorithm which it composes the slb and currently uses 3 servers is writing a RoundRobin method. But the speccific users connect sever, continuously it wants a connection maintenance with the server which it connects.
from this condition , I want know I must compose algorithm method of a persistance mode. but me the config should not have become from the F5, against it wants knowing in hash mode
vip 10.10.10.10
pool name: http_pool
server1 : 20.20.20.1 : 80
server2 : 20.20.20.2 : 80
With above in same Form from the BIGIP it connects with the SEVER_1 when continuously it connects with the SERVER1, want knowing a iRULE SET method
thank you.

Hi,
There are several load balancing methods available on BIG-IP that allow you to specify how to pick an available node in the pool. You can also configure a persistence profile to ensure that repeated requests from the same client are sent to the same node in the pool.
For more information on these functions, you can refer to the BIG-IP Configuration guide:
Load balancing algorithms:
(look for the section titled, "Selecting a load balancing method"
Persistence methods:

iRules:

If you aren't able to find the information you are looking for in the manual, can you post again with more detail on what you are trying to accomplish with an iRule?
Thanks,
Aaron
