Iquery Communication

Hi Forum,

I am just trying to do a bit of studying for the 302 exam and came across this statement of f5.com

"iQuery communications only occur across the same VLAN; in other words, if two systems reside on different VLANs, they cannot communicate through iQuery."

If I have two GTMs, one is London and one in New York, how can they be on the same VLAN, I would run L2 between the sites but it is unlikely this would be the case.

  • Sounds like legacy documentation to me. We have GTMs in multiple locations that route to each other over a WAN, and iQuery works just fine.

Yeah. If this is a true/false answer, then the answer is false. iQuery (big3d comms) works fine over the WAN...

It's just another TCP connection at the network level...

  • Ok Thanks for the response. I thought it was not right, or if it was I had misundertood how it works.

    Thank you
