Intermittent L2 connectivity issues, VE hosted in Hyper-V, ProCurve switches

I have a Virtual Edition APM running on Hyper-V, connected to ProCurve switches. We have already set the nic-teaming load balancing to Hyper-V port which fixed a lot of issues. Thanks to Eric Siron at https://www.altaro.com/hyper-v/erratic-behavior-hyper-v-network-load-balancers/ Now, however, we have a case where the mac addresses for virtual servers, or self-ips, etc, drop out of the mac address table in the Procurve switches. At that point external access thru an ASA firewall to that virtual server stops working. Ping that virtual server from a vm on the same vlan, it repopulates the mac address table on the switch and responds immediately and Internet access starts working again.... Anyone run into similar issues?

  • Hi Mark,

Have you tried specifying a static MAC for the VE interfaces instead of Dynamic from The Hyper V end?

  • Can you please provide cat ltm logs and also see any F5 L2 service is having issues.
