Jan 25, 2010Inbound compressed traffic?
We have a SOAP service that runs through the F5 LTM. The compression options all have to do with compressing the response back to the client. We want to compress the request, as it is very large XML as well.
Is there a way to decompress this inbound traffic in the LTM?

Hi DeVon,
I don't think there is a way to have LTM decompress response content from an iRule, so I'm guessing the same is true for request payloads. If you search the forums for "request decompress" you can see a few other people have been interested in this though. You could open a case with F5 Support and ask if a 'request for enhancement' CR already exists for this. If not, they can create one for you.

Thanks Aaron! I just opened a request with support. I'll post back what I find out...
