In vcmp clustering, will the status be active-active and standby?

I have 3 viprion, with 2 guest each. 2 of which are located in the Head office while the 3rd viprion is at the DR.

Are you asking about the Viprions themselves, or the guests? I have clustered Viprion chassis, but just really for configuration consistency since that's what I do on my BigIPs. There really is no concept of an HA cluster of a Viprion. The guests (if you have HA pairs) can be active/active or active standby. It just depends on how you set up your traffic groups. I generally create a new traffic group for my configs and don't use the default traffic group, but always run active/standby (at least for now). To make sure the guests always show active/standby you have to make sure you do device failovers which sends all traffic groups to whichever node you want to be active.
  • Thank you Marc. I was referring to the guests. Is it possible to do a ScaleN for those guests? active-active then standby?
