In Using the AST tool am I pointing it to TENANTS or to the F5OS(hardware) I have?
So I have an AST tool installation however I pointed the logins to each tenant I'm running...
I was just wondering if I also should point a login to the hardware(F5OS level) as well or is AST strictly a TENANT monitoring tool..
Thanks

It's main goal is to provide application insights, so yeah, it's a tenant monitoring tool. Also it leverages the iControl REST API to pull data from the F5's into the OpenTelemetry collector and then to Prometheus and Grafana.

yes my boss asked me if it was both.. a Hardware F5OS and Big-IP tenant tool I said I thought it was just for the tenants

You could of course use a SNMP collector to ingest the host data into Prometheus and create your own Grafana dashboards with that data.

You can’t see F5OS metrics via AST.
I’ve tried this in my lab environment, but it didn’t work.
AST is only for monitoring BIG-IP Tenants.
