Impact of disabling Port and Address Translation for F5
If I have a set of servers behind a specific VIP that are operating fine, but I want to use the action on service down "reselect" and it requires port and address translation to be disabled. what would be the impact if I did so?

So I'm clear, you have port and address translation disabled on the VIP configuration, correct?

No, they are enabled but I want to disable them. Therefore, I need to know the impact of that.
When you disable address translation the BIG-IP won't translate the virtual server IP address into the pool member address. Disabling this can be use-full if the virtual server and pool member have the same IP address.
Disabling port translation does the same as address translation but then for the virtual server listing port. It is used/use-full when your load balancing to a pool with members listening on the any port.

Why do you have to disable port/IP translation in order to use "reselect" for action on service down ? I have used "reselect" plenty of times without disabling IP/Port translation. If you disable IP/Port translation, connection from F5 to pool member may fail depending on the configuration.
