Feb 14, 2007If we modify one global variable at the same time, is it security?
I have a question about f5 global variable. If more connections modify one global variable at the same time, is it security in f5?Can we add protection in using it?
- Colin_Walker_12Historic F5 AccountI'm not sure what you mean by "adding protection", but I would definitely recommend using different variables for your iRules if the variables need to be global. Having multiple rules reading/writing from the same variables can be tricky if they weren't designed to do so.

If iRules is single threaded, would that mean global variable works in the context of the irule? - Nicolas_Menant

Global Variable is stored within the TMM process and is single threaded - The_Bhattman

It get's more interesting when you deal with multiple TMM processes. :-) - Nicolas_Menant
